Post Session Reflections and Awareness

img_7680As a #mentorcoach I am often asked by my students how to objectively assess their sessions for their growth and development. Obviously, working with a mentor coach is supportive for the process to go over the session recording, review what client offered during the session and how the coach responded. If having such mentor coach sessions are not an option, even when they are, creating #self-awareness for the coach is the key. Below are some of the #reflective questions that I have developed over the years. I am sharing for the #coaches have a desire to self-reflect for their development and awareness post session.

• What new awareness client gained from this discussion?

• What behavioral, mental model or other shifts occurred due to this discussion?

• What did the client learn about themselves?

• What did the client learn about the way they look at the situation at hand?

• How willing client was to change?

• How much self-accountability established during this discussion?

• What did the coach learn about themselves and how they relate to the client?

• How present coach was during this session and how fully engaged in the discussion?

• What sensations, emotions and words client offered that triggered coach to be off focus?

These questions were supportive of many of my students in a positive way, may they do the same for you.
